We Are Ready for 2019

Happy New Year

We don’t know about you, but we are always a little weary of the whole, “New Year, New Me” thing.

Don’t get us wrong:  We love the idea of rebirth, of renewal, and of refreshed goals.  We think there is great value in being willing to take the leap of faith required in reinventing yourself or your brand.  We wholeheartedly agree that transformation and resolution is the key to sustainability and growth...

...we just don’t think an arbitrary date on a calendar should dictate how that happens.

So, we took a different approach.  Instead of quickly scribbling down generic and lofty goals for 2019 in the waning hours of 2018, we decided to take the first several months of the new year and analyze exactly what our core values were, our immediate goals, our long term goals, and our blueprint of how we would get there.

Sure, it isn’t as sexy as a December 31st declaration, but we believe it is far more sustainable and realistic.  We also believe that with a little more thought and planning, we can move into the rest of 2019 with purpose and meaning.  Here is what we came up with:

  • We will write more often We needed to remember that our writing was not just therapeutic for ourselves, but to our readers.  Writing and the sharing thereof is a symbiotic relationship, and we will work towards a goal of writing quality pieces at a higher frequency.

  • More tutorials for you  We feel that it is vital, now more than ever, to promote the arts both within and outside of our community.  When times are troubled or chaotic, the need to express ourselves through art can release the inner strife that would otherwise consume us, all the while, providing others with escape and thoughtfulness.  We will be creating more tutorials for you to improve your art and your writing.

  • Provide guidance on how to submit your work to publishers  We also believe that we can be more effective in guiding you professionally.  While we are all here for the art, there are many of us who seek to make a living through sharing our truth in this medium, and that is not for the faint of heart.  We will provide more tutorials and how-to guides on working with publishers.

  • Provide a pathway to self-publishing Not everyone wants to deal with the chaos and frustration of working with a publisher, and as a self-published organization ourselves, we understand that.  We will also create more arenas for conversation and instruction for those seeking to self-publish.

Above all else, we want to let you know that we are actively listening and intently preparing to serve you in the best way possible.  We understand that you giving willingly of your time to hear what we have to say and look to us for guidance in your personal journey.  We appreciate that time, and want to be available for any questions, concerns, or requests you might have.

These are our 2019 goals and commitments, and unlike the majority of the pipedreams utters over glasses of champagne at 11:59pm on December 31st, we intend to keep these resolutions.

Here are a list of books we intend to publish in 2019:

  • Battlefield Blooming by Do Nguyen Mai

  • Before We Dream We Remember by Bryan Worra

  • Every Passing Minute by Krysada Panusith Phounsiri (tentative title)

  • A Sticky Mess Second Edition by Nor Sanavongsay (tentative)
