This year marks the 9th year the Lao American community will observe Lao American Artists Heritage Month in August. The language on the proclamation changes periodically but at the heart of it every year is an acknowledgement of the wonderful contributions of artists and culture builders across the United States and in various parts of the Lao diaspora and in Laos who have taken the time out of their lives to add to our culture creatively.
At Sahtu Press, we continue to salute that journey and encourage all of you to take time to create a little (or even better, a lot) every day, to share the work of your favorite Lao artists, and to keep exploring constantly for new, experienced, and underappreciated artists from the Lao community in all of your favorite disciplines.
